Student Leadership

SkillsUSA Iowa State Officer Program

The SkillsUSA Iowa State Officer Program is the premier student leadership experience within our organization. Each year, a select team of student leaders is elected to represent SkillsUSA Iowa’s members across the state. State officers serve as ambassadors for career and technical education, skilled trades, and workforce development while gaining invaluable leadership experience.

Through training, public speaking, advocacy, and event facilitation, officers develop essential personal, workplace, and technical skills grounded in the SkillsUSA Framework. They lead workshops, connect with business and industry partners, and represent Iowa at conferences such as the Fall Leadership Conference, State Leadership & Skills Conference, and the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference.

Serving as a state officer is both an honor and a responsibility - officers are role models for their peers, voices for Iowa’s future workforce, and leaders dedicated to empowering students to “Champion Their Future” through SkillsUSA.
